ROSENDALE, SIMON WOLFE
ROSENDALE, SIMON WOLFE (1842–1937), U.S. lawyer and public servant. Rosendale, who was born in Albany, New York, received his early education at the school maintained by Rabbi I.M. Wise\>\> . He was admitted to the bar in 1863 and practiced thereafter in his native city. He was recorder of Albany (1868–72) and attorney general of New York State (1892–94). Rosendale was an active worker for the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and B'nai B'rith. He was a founder of the Jewish Publication Society of America and of the American Jewish Historical Society.
